Happy New Year!
The thirteenth day of the Persian New Year is always a BIG celebration. The tradition is that on the thirteenth day you have to leave the house and be gone all day. SOOOO, many Persians gather together for big BBQ's and fun. Every year my family celebrates at Laguna Niguel State Park and today couldnt have been a more perfect day. A calm 75 degrees and cloudless sky set the stage for a fun filled day! The customary greeting of a kiss on each cheek is the ultimate icebreaker, so if you are shy at arrival, expect to leave with several new best friends :)
I'd say the BEST part id the food.....yummy. I am addicted to Persian food! so when all the friends and family gather together you can expect to eat VERY well :)
Here are a few pics from the day... :)
My sister Paris and lil' Emma
I may be a little bias, but I think Persian Babies are the cutest kids! ;)
The volleyball game
My dad... hardcore.
Some of the kids watching the turtles in the creek
The best part.... the FOOD!
