What is Beautiful?

***TRUE BEAUTY CAMPAIGN***
wow.
I saw this video on OSP and I just couldnt get it out of my mind...
No wonder girls' perception of beauty is distorted.
Do you think there was a such thing as eating disorders and poor physical self esteem before mass media?

Wow! That's nuts!

And what's probably even more crazy... is that the remifications of this kind of stuff go so far and deep into our society's problems that we couldn't even fully understand it all.

Stuff like that affects guys attitudes towards the girls around them, girls attitudes towards themselves, a husbands attitude towards his wife... and so on... and so on.

Thats so true Brett-man! Its a vicious cycle!

Its makes me wonder what true beauty really is...??

According to the dictionary,
beau‧ty  [byoo-tee] 1.the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).

I think the problem is that we let media play such a significant role in our society.

Media only has the power that we give it but it is a sad reality.

...and I am so sorry about your car! If I were you I'd never drive it again - talk about a car filled with bad luck.

I think you nailed it on the head Deej! Its easy to blame the media for our corrupt perceptions, but in reality, we are responsible for ALLOWING that media to play such a big role in our lives. You are right in saying that it only has as much power as we give it....
I think we have become so enslaved, though, that we dont know how to get free.... or even if we really WANT to get free. I think most people would rather be told what what's good/bad ugly/beautiful fashionable/not, etc.
hmmmm... it is a sad reality indeed.

Yeah I saw that a while ago.... VERY AWESOME video!! I'm glad to see a company taking a stance to celebrate REAL beauty in women.
