Homemade Trailer Park

Technically these pics are from Christmas but my friend just finally got them to me tonight! OH well, better late than never right? :)
So every year our school puts on a hall decorating contest at Christmas and its honestly my favorite part of the school year. I loooove to get creative and so I usually end up doing these things by myself and spend hours on them.
So 4 rolls of tin foil, 2 rolls of duct tape, who knows how many staples, 1 can of spray snow, 1 pink yard flamingo and 7 hours later... the creation was complete! I got the inspration from a song called "I'm dreamin' of a white trash christmas" which I had playing in the background as the judges came around.
hehe...

This is the scene you were greeted with upon entering the hall.
(Note:BIG Granny undies from Walmart are only $0.89!) Oh, and the socks were dripping wet so it caught people off guard when the wet socks touched their shoulders ;)

The last door at the end of the hall was labled 'OUTHOUSE' :)

The Trailer..."Home Sweet Home" ;)

The Hitch...

The End!...

Its comin' along...

My bro just sent me some update pics of the house, and I am so excited!

While I am excited that this is almost done and so proud of my parents for fulfilling their dreams, I am sad because it reminds me how much I miss them! My mom is just the greatest, most loveable, & wise person you'll ever meet and my Dad is the most brilliant business mind in the world...together they make such an amazing couple and wonderful pastors! Gosh,I have ALOT to live up to...
Anyway, I love you Mom & Dad and cant wait to see you in a few weeks!!

Santa Bob-ra

One thing I absolultey love is spontenaity. There is somethng about getting a crazy idea in your head and dropping everything to go do it. Im not condoning irresponsbility, I am simply encouraging random bursts of unplanned adventure :)
Anyway, that was what my roomate and I did yesterday. She has been needing some grad pictures to send in her announcemnets so we made a day of it...in Santa Barbara! (we use our snooty voices and pronounce it Sana Bob-ra). Since SB is like my favoritist city EVER, and Danielle had never been it nly seemed perfect! We left at 2, stopped at Samy's in Pasadena, hit some traffic, and still made it by 4! :) We caffinated ourselves at a cute little coffeeshop called Finestra and then walked across the street to the courthouse where we shot for nearly three hours!...so FUN! Once it got dark we lingered up and down State Street (the main street in SB)looking for a place to eat. In our indecisiveness we realized it was already 8:30 so we settled in at Opal restaurant and had the most wonderful dinner and best of all....Creme Brulee!!!
So... I fell asleep editing last night and Im off to class now but here are a few of the shots amidst the beautiful backdrop of the Santa Bob-ra courthouse!

Rebekah White

The other day I recieved a phone call from my friend Karla who is a stylist. She recently started working for a friend of hers who is an up and coming musician with some amazing talent. Anyway... this girl, Rebekah White, is meeting with her prospective manager this weekend and needed some photos to show at the meeting...and thats where I come in... Karla called me a few days ago and asked if I would be willing to shoot a few shots. Well of course!! Any excuse to shoot right??
So they picked me up around 1pm and 9 hours later we called it a wrap...the time simply FLEW by! I got home at midnight-thirty, but now its 3:30am and I realized have been up editing waaay too long... I can't help it, it's just so addicting! Anyway, here are a few of my favs from the day! More to come after I do the homework I neglected today :)

Banquet

Last night was our senior banquet...Our last big hoorah before graduation! It was held at the Disneyland Hotel and was a fabulous evening. Our dates went all out, we were greeted with a boquet of cheesy-fake flowers that set the stage for a hilarious evening.
Anyway, after that we headed to the banquet hall and our dates were the MC's for the evening so my roomate and I were the Vana's and acted as escorts and presenters. So fun! The night culimated in perusing the streets of Downtown Disney and listening to the guys make up impromptu songs and raps about us on the ride home...HILARIOUS!!!! I had a great time...here are few pics to recap the night :)

HAHAHAHA!!!

OKay where do I begin...
So a few weeks back my two best friends and I were sitting down to dinner when all of a sudden three guys come up dressed as if they were straight out of Naploean Dynamite. It was three friends of ours from school. Anyway, after our laughter at their attire settled down a bit, they introduced themselves at the "Safe Guys" and they began to break out in song and dance. The tune of "you are so beautiful" in 3 different keys was belted throughout room. We were laughing sooo hard! So, anyway, they ended on thier knees each asking one of us to our Senior Banquet that our school holds at the end of each year. So sweet and funny...they made such fools of themselves! Of course we said yes...how could you say no to such an elaborate proposal?? Plus, we've all known eachother for three years so we knew it'd be fun going with these great friends!
So, tonight, I was in the gym working out when I got a 'special delivery'...a CD titled "OPEN ME" From: Your JSB Dates"
I went to the computer and lo' and behold I watch a power point with the following 6 slides.... I laughed so hard I couldnt stand up...

The simplicity of Easter

I woke up yesterday morning and the first thing I was asked was "Have you found any eggs yet??"...it caught me off guard because at 24 one would think I was too old for an Easter egg hunt, but I helped my lil' sisters search the house anyway and was reminded of what it felt like to be a kid again. There was something about the simplicity of the hunt that made me smile. It was also the same feeling I felt at church later that morning. I was caught off guard and realized the true simplicity of what the Gospel is all about. Being a Bible College student teaches you how to examine a verse in 40 different ways and learn the true meaning behind the original Greek but it can also cause one to lose sight of the simplicity of the Gospel. Watching people stand up in response to a call for salvation brought tears to my eyes and I was reminded that that's what it is all about... It doesnt matter how much Greek I know or how many verses I have memorized...all that matters it is I am fulfilling the call of God and spreading the good news. I am thankful for the reminder that it really is that simple.
I found this picture yesterday of my very first Easter Egg Hunt and was reminded of the joy I felt, although I was only 3 I remember it vividly...the excitement, the colors...the simplicity :)

This week at WPPI I met so many AMAZING people and its was so encouraging to see people helping eachother out. The community I encountered was so unselfishly motivated. We all know when you look the word "giver" up in the dictionary you will find Master Colon and David Jay's name but I'd like to recognize another kind heart. Jaysun Spieth was a guy I met this week and he just happens to be in the same city as my brother who is an aspiring photographer as well. I asked him if he was looking for an intern because his style was totally different than most stuff up in the Portland area and I got sooo excited after hearing his vision. Suprisingly enough he was in the market for an intern and so we exchanged info and I called my bro RIGHT AWAY and I was talking like 90 miles an hour because I was so excited at the opportunity this posed for him...anyway, I just got a message that they did their first shoot together last night...ALREADY!! Jaysun went ahead and brought him on and I am so excited!!! Thanks Jaysun!!!
<--- Thats Jaysun on the left
Sheesh! Ive been awake 44 of the last 48 hours and I am still goin.... I took homework to Vegas and I really tried to get some done, but there was just so many other exciting things to do...so I paid for it last night by staying up all night for the second night in a row. I finished 2 tests, and a HUMONGOUS project worth 70% of my grade, Im just trying to stay awake until my next test in a few hours (hence the random blog post)! However, it all became worthwhile when I checked my mail and found that I recieved my graduation invitations...
its all starting to sink in, this is really happening...I have been in school way too long and honestly thought this day would never come!! I remember counting down at 25 weeks and now it is only 4 weeks from tomorrow!!! The humorous side is that I read the invite and I'm getting my B.A. in B.S...hehe! It's actually Biblical Studies, but 'B.S.' is far more entertaining!

Oh, and I was so determined to get my pictures up from Vegas RIGHT AWAY so I spent FOREVER putting a slideshow together using Showit v2 only to realize Im a silly goose and cannot uplaod the show if I dont have a server! So alas, it sits un-uploaded :(
But soon and very soon I will join in the frenzy and get some pictures up! :)
